BREAKING NEWS: Dylann Roof Sentenced To Death For Charleston Church Mass Shooting
All 12 jurors, 10 women and two men, recommended the death penalty for the 18 counts that carried it as a possible verdict. They decided after 3 hours of deliberation.
Roof’s formal sentencing will be done by Judge Richard Gergel on Wednesday morning.
The jurors did not face Roof when announcing their verdict. Many of them chose to look at the victims’ families in a very somber court room.
Roof did not show any apparent reaction to the verdict. The state of South Carolina uses either the electric chair or lethal injection to carry out death sentences.
